Chicken Ala Poos Recipe

The Choti Si Baat of Chicken Ala Poos

As a blogger, your research for recipes sees absolutely no end. You leave no stone unturned in search for a good recipe that you would, first enjoy at your home and then go ahead sharing with your readers. A very big contribution to this recipe is often being made by my Granny’s collection of recipes that she had been doing for God knows years. It is basically a clipped collection of over 25 pages of recipe cut-outs that she has torn off various Bengali magazines. This Chicken Ala Poos recipe is another jewel from this collection.

Chicken Ala Poos

Once I was quite happy with the results, I decided to write down the recipe. And while I googled the name, almost nothing came out of the search. Except a little mention of this dish where it lived a few moments of glory in the yesteryear’s Bollywood movie, Choti Si Baat.

In this movie, the three of the characters played by  actors Amol Palekar, Vidya Sinha and Asrani visit, now closed, Samovar Cafe at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai. There they order their meal which includes this particular dish we are talking about.

So, it has never harmed anyone from having another Chicken recipe up on the sleeve. One great thing about cooking a Chicken dish is that it is quick and takes up the flavour of spices it is cooked with. So, here’s the recipe:
