Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl Cake Recipe

Chocolate and Vanilla Swirl Cake for Lazy Weekend Baking

When you can’t decide between a chocolate and vanilla cake, bake yourself a vanilla and chocolate marbled swirl cake.

It is like having best of the both worlds on your plate. I know many houses which see them parted on the choice of flavor for their cake when they are asked to choose between vanilla and chocolate. There are those who are die-hard fans of chocolate, but there are some people who just cannot stand the thought of it. But then there are those who like to have both. This chocolate vanilla swirl cake is for those people who like to grab a bit of vanilla cake followed by another in chocolate.

How To Make A Perfect Swirl Cake

For this chocolate vanilla cake recipe all you need to do is to follow the fuss-free Vanilla Sponge Cake recipe, then divide the batter in half, each for one flavor. Now, one half is already vanilla flavored so keep it aside. For the second half, take 2 tbsp. of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder and 2 tsp. of Milk and mix it gently in.

If you are feeling fancy then you can go for a chocolate-vanilla glaze for this chocolate bundt cake. You can even bake it in a ring pan or in a loaf pan if you are simply baking it for your weekend, to go with a cup of tea or coffee.

For vanilla-chocolate glaze, melt some chocolate in a double boiler, i.e. you place the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl and place it over the steam coming from boiling water. The heat through the steam would gently melt the chocolate, without letting it cease and go hard. Add a tablespoon of butter in it along with a dash of vanilla extract, and let it melt. Remove from heat and whisk it well. Once it has cooled off completely yet it is in a pouring state, spread it over the cake. Let this cool and set completely, before serving.
