In this post, I am going to give you my tried & tested recipe for the best M&M cookies without eggs. But in case you wish to make this cookies recipe with eggs, I will give that one as well below.
One thing great about this M&M cookies recipe is that it needs all the pantry staple ingredients. As I always say, I am a big fan of such recipes which don’t call for exquisite ingredients that are either rarely at home or hard to find. For this easy cookie recipe, all you need is some butter, flour, sugar and some M&M candies. Here’s a complete list of the ingredients you would require to try this cookies recipe:
How to make Chocolate Chip Cookies – Ingredients list
- All-purpose Flour
- Corn Flour
- Butter – melted and then brought to room temperature. It should have an opaque film formed on its top
- Brown Sugar & Granulated Sugar – I would recommend using brown sugar as it gives these cookies its chewy texture
- Baking Soda & Baking Powder
- Vanilla Extract
- M&M candies
- Salt – omit if using salted butter
- Milk
- Refined Oil – unflavoured such as sunflower oil, canola oil, rice bran oil, extra light olive oil, etc.
- Spices – a pinch of Cinnamon & Nutmeg
These are the ingredients that we would use to make homemade chocolate chip cookies without eggs. However, if you would like to try this soft M&M cookie recipe with eggs, then simple omit Baking Powder, Milk and Refined Oil and use 1 whole egg and 1 yolk, instead.
How to make the best M&M cookies at home?
- Take the butter and sugar into a bowl and microwave it for 1 minute
- Whisk it with vanilla extract for around 2 minutes to get a fluffy mix
- Now add the dry ingredients and milk and whisk just till everything combines. Do not overmix
- Add the M&M candies to it and mix using a spatula
- Line a baking tray with a parchment paper and scoop out a tablespoon of cookie dough and place them on the sheet
- Chill it for 30 minutes
- When you are ready to bake, pre-heat the oven to 180C or 325F. Place the cookie dough balls 2-3 inches apart on a baking tray and bake them for 18 minutes or so. Once ready the edges should have turned golden and the base of the cookie should be dry
- Take them out and allow them to cool on the same baking tray for 5 minutes before placing them on a wire rack
You can bake and keep these Hershey M&M cookies in an airtight container for a week to ten days. This cookie dough can be frozen easily. Like I like to divide the entire cookie dough into two parts, bake one half and freeze the rest half of it for later emergency chocolate chip cookie cravings. They stay well frozen for over a month and taste even better once baked.
