This delicately fried crispy paneer stir-fried with cubed onion and bell pepper is an excellent appetizer or a party snack for those who prefer vegetarian dishes.

Ingredients for hot & sweet Chili Paneer
- 500 gms Paneer or Cottage Cheese – Cut into cubes
- 3 tbsp Refined Oil
- 7-8 Cloves of Garlic – Finely Sliced
- 2 Onion Large – Cubed
- 1 Green Capsicum Large – Cubed
- 1 Red/Yellow Bell Pepper Large – Cubed
- 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 Green Chilies Finely Chopped
- 2-3 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tsp Cornflour
- 1 tsp White Sesame Seeds Slightly toasted for garnish
Instructions to make crispy honey Chili Paneer recipe at home
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the garlic for a minute on medium heat.
- Then add the Onion, Capsicum, and Bell Peppers.
- Saute these on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix the sauces with water and cornflour. Whisk it to make it smooth and lump-free.
- Add the paneer cubes and chopped green chilies to the sauteed onion and bell peppers. Season it with salt as per taste. However, be cautious as the Soy Sauce contains salt as well.
- Now, add the sauces and stir well. In a minute it would thicken and become dry. Serve hot with toasted Sesame seeds on the top.
Vegan stir fry variations
Most of the paneer recipes can be easily devised into dairy-free and vegan recipes by using tofu instead of the paneer (Cottage Cheese). So, this sweet & spicy dry Chili Paneer recipe can also be modified into a tofu recipe with slight modifications. All you have to do is replace the paneer cubes with hot water-soaked tofu cubes and go ahead with the rest of the recipe.
