If you love the Indian festival of colours, i.e. Holi, then you must have heard about Thandai. It’s a milk-based drink made with nuts and spices. This instant Thandai recipe mix can be easily made at home, and can also be used to bake amazing baked goodies. Here, I have made a small batch of Thandai powder and baked Mug Cakes with them.
Thandai powder is an assorted mix of nuts like almonds and cashew with seeds like Melon seeds, sunflower seeds, etc. A choice of Indian spices is also added such as Cardamom, Saffron, Peppercorns, Fennel seeds, and dried rose petals among others.
Then everything is grounded into a fine powder which is then mixed with milk to make this Holi special drink. For people like me who aren’t a big fan of milk-based beverages, this Thandai powder Mug Cake recipe is perfect.
