This is my non-alcoholic version of a Bloody Mary drink, which typically uses vodka as the alcohol base. Here, in this mocktail drink with tomato juice, we need simple pantry ingredients and mint leaves for an extra dose of freshness.
The best thing about this virgin Bloody Mary mocktail recipe is that it can be enjoyed at any time of the day. You can serve it with the brunch, or have it with friends in the evening.
Although it is a non-alcoholic drink, let me tell you that this can be very addictive! because it is just that easy to make, and super delicious to taste.
A tomato drink might sound weird to many, but this one is a total keeper!
Once I made it, I just couldn’t stop myself from making this every alternate day. We were having it with our breakfast, or during the late afternoons. Once I remember making this in the middle of the night because, well, there is no because of it. We craved, so I made!!
How to make virgin Bloody Mary – Ingredients list
- Tomatoes
- Sugar
- Water
- Salt & Pepper
- Lemon Juice or Lemon Powder
- Mint Leaves
- Red Chilli Flakes
Making this virgin Bloody Mary drink with tomato juice is almost a child’s play. You can make it from scratch and get this ready to serve in just a few minutes.
So, here’s the step-by-step recipe of virgin Bloody Mary recipe
Most people think that Bloody Mary is a ‘vodka and tomato juice drink’ recipe. However, once you try this, you will know for sure that it is much more than that. There is a hint of the tang of lemon juice and slight tingling heat at the back of your throat from freshly crushed pepper powder and red chilli flakes.
Which kind of Tomato to use for this virgin Bloody Mary mocktail? You can use indigenous organic tomatoes which are tender and juicy. Else you can use Cherry Tomatoes as well. Roma tomatoes aren’t much good for this mocktail recipe.
Unlike the traditional recipe of making Vodka-based Bloody Mary, we have cooked the tomatoes with sugar and spices to enhance the flavour.

- 2 Tomatoes Chopped
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- ¼ cup Water
- Juice of 1 Lemon Or, 1 tsp Knorr Lime Powder
- 5-6 Mint Leaves
- ½ tsp Rock Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
- ¼ tsp Red Chilli Flakes

Boil tomatoes, water, sugar, mint leaves, salt & pepper together till the tomatoes get cooked and mushy. Allow this to cool down completely.

Add the Chilli Flakes, lemon juice and water so as to make it sufficient for 2 serves. Blitz everything well. Sieve and serve with ice cubes.
