¾cupWater
1inchGinger
1Dry Bay Leaf
1½tbspMustard Oil
½tspCumin Seeds
A pinch of Hing or Asafoetida
1Green ChilliAs per taste
Salt to Taste

Instructions
Grate the ginger. Now press the grated ginger against a sieve and collect the juice in another bowl
Wash the mung dal and pressure cook it with the ginger juice, dry bay leaf and some salt
Heat oil in a pan. Temper it with hing, cumin seeds and green chillies. As the seeds splutter, add the grated ginger and give it a quick stir
Now, add the cooked dal to the prepared tempering and let it simmer. Add water as required
