Instructions
Peel the yam and cut it into small cubes. Wash it well and boil it with some water and salt. Discard the water and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan and temper it with dried bay leaf, hing, cumin seeds and green chilli. You may slice it up for more heat.
Now add the cooked yams and stir.
Add chopped coconut, grated ginger, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder and sugar. Add 1/4th cup of water to allow the spices to mix up nicely.
Allow it to simmer on low heat with the lid on. Once the yams have been cooked nicely, add the ghee.
Turn off the heat and add the lemon juice. Give it a good mix and serve.
