Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Watermelon
Start by washing and dicing the fresh watermelon into small chunks. Remove any seeds if necessary. The unique flavor of the watermelon will be the star of this no-alcohol Watermelon Mojito recipe.
2 cups diced watermelon
Step 2: Muddle the Mint Leaves
In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle the leaves with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their aromatic oils. This step is crucial for infusing the drink with the refreshing essence of mint.
8-10 fresh mint leaves
Step 3: Blend the Watermelon
Add the diced watermelon chunks to a blender jar along with the rest of the ingredients. Be generous with Lime juice as it adds a tangy kick that balances the sweetness of the watermelon perfectly.
Be careful with honey. Watermelon can be quite sweet by themselves, so give it a taste test before adding more.
Step 4: Shake or Stir
If using a cocktail shaker, fill it with ice cubes and pour the watermelon-mint-lime mixture over the ice. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill the ingredients and combine the flavors. If you don't have a shaker, simply stir the mixture in the glass until well-mixed.
Step 5: Add Sparkling Water
Pour the sparkling water into the glass or shaker with the other ingredients. The sparkling water adds a delightful fizz and lightness to the drink, making it even more refreshing. You can use normal soda instead.
1 cup sparkling water or soda.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Pour the virgin Watermelon Mojito into serving glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint and a small watermelon wedge for an extra touch of elegance. Serve immediately and enjoy!
