Sticky & Juicy Orange Marmalade Chicken Recipe

As I speak to more people in my circle, I get to know more about their struggle to find interesting Chicken recipes for main course as well as snacks or appetizers. Due to widespread availability and overall greater preference, most of the household these days stock Chicken and depend on it hugely for their protein intake. So, I am putting up another Chicken party snack recipe which is simple, easy and practically needs a handful of ingredients. This sticky Orange Marmalade Chicken recipe goes amazingly well as evening snacks as well as, a party food to feed a crowd.

Although I love being in my kitchen and indulge in experimenting with newer recipes, I hate to stand there for long when I have friends or family over and they are having a hearty laugh on latest meme or gossiping. Why miss out on such family moments by standing around and waiting over the food to get cooked! 

This super simple orange favored Barbecue Chicken recipe is absolutely quick to pull through and get you on with your party with friends.

I have used Ginger flavored Marmalade from SPRIG, an Indian gourmet brand offering amazing products. In case you have some other marmalade, you are in complete liberty to use that. Or, if you don’t have any then also I will give you the recipe where you can make your own glaze using fresh Orange juice.

This Marmalade glazed Chicken recipe is perfect snack for your parties and get-togethers.

Ingredients
  • 4 nos Chicken Thighs or Drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp Marmalade or Orange Jam or Preserve
  • 1 cup Orange Juice In case, You don’t have Marmalade
  • 1 tsp Ginger Grated
  • 2 Green Chilies Sliced
  • 2 tbsp Refined Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey Adjust
Instructions
  1. In case you don’t have Marmalade readily available at your end, make your glaze first. For that take a heavy bottom saucepan and add the Orange Juice, Honey, Ginger and Green Chilies. Let it simmer till it becomes sticky. Your glaze is ready.

  2. Now, heat oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken thighs till golden-brown and the skin becomes crisp. 

  3. Now, if you are using Marmalade, then mix it with some water, Corn flour and Soya Sauce to make a glaze. 

  4. Put it on the chicken thighs along with salt, Green Chilies and ginger. 

    If you have the homemade glaze made from Orange Juice then pour that over the Chicken thighs. Also, mix the Corn flour with some water and pour that. 

  5. As it simmers, it will thicken and the chicken thighs will be nicely smeared with the orange glaze.

  6. Turn of the heat, and serve with some chopped Spring Onion.

Recipe Notes

Please adjust the amount of Honey as per the tangyness/sourness of the Orange Juice. The sweetness should be just enough to balance the sourness of the citrus fruit.
