I have used Ginger flavored Marmalade from SPRIG, an Indian gourmet brand offering amazing products. In case you have some other marmalade, you are in complete liberty to use that. Or, if you don’t have any then also I will give you the recipe where you can make your own glaze using fresh Orange juice.
This Marmalade glazed Chicken recipe is perfect snack for your parties and get-togethers.
- 4 nos Chicken Thighs or Drumsticks
- 2 tbsp Marmalade or Orange Jam or Preserve
- 1 cup Orange Juice In case, You don’t have Marmalade
- 1 tsp Ginger Grated
- 2 Green Chilies Sliced
- 2 tbsp Refined Oil
- 1 tbsp Cornflour
- Salt To Taste
- 1 tbsp Soya Sauce
- 1/4 cup Honey Adjust
In case you don’t have Marmalade readily available at your end, make your glaze first. For that take a heavy bottom saucepan and add the Orange Juice, Honey, Ginger and Green Chilies. Let it simmer till it becomes sticky. Your glaze is ready.
Now, heat oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken thighs till golden-brown and the skin becomes crisp.
Now, if you are using Marmalade, then mix it with some water, Corn flour and Soya Sauce to make a glaze.
Put it on the chicken thighs along with salt, Green Chilies and ginger.
If you have the homemade glaze made from Orange Juice then pour that over the Chicken thighs. Also, mix the Corn flour with some water and pour that.
As it simmers, it will thicken and the chicken thighs will be nicely smeared with the orange glaze.
Turn of the heat, and serve with some chopped Spring Onion.
Please adjust the amount of Honey as per the tangyness/sourness of the Orange Juice. The sweetness should be just enough to balance the sourness of the citrus fruit.
